The Post Office Monthly Income Scheme (POMIS) is a sovereign-backed, low-risk investment scheme offered by India Post. Under this scheme, investors deposit a lump sum amount and receive guaranteed monthly interest payouts directly into their savings account for a fixed lock-in tenure of 5 years.
POMIS Limits & Guidelines:
- Single Account: Maximum investment limit is Rs. 9 Lakhs.
- Joint Account (up to 3 adults): Maximum investment limit is Rs. 15 Lakhs.
- Current Interest Rate: 7.4% per annum (paid monthly).
- Maturity: 5 Years. The principal amount is refunded 100% in full upon maturity.
